Cemeteries & Crematoria NSW Compliance

Beginning Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, we are introducing a Cremation Contract requirement in accordance with new regulations set by Cemeteries & Crematoria NSW and the NSW State Government. These changes are designed to ensure transparency and accountability in the cremation process, providing families with clarity during what is often an emotional time. Here is more information on how this strategy will strengthen consumer protections for people in NSW.

The introduction of this contract helps establish clear communication regarding the services provided, ensuring all necessary steps are followed before a cremation takes place. If you have any concerns or disputes regarding the process, please refer to the Disputes section in Mountain View Crematoria's Customer Service Charter.

A template for the Mountain View Crematoria Operator contract can be found here, and the template for the Funeral Director Agent contract can be found here. Both documents include Mountain View Crematoria's retail price list.

Important Steps:

  1. Complete and sign the contract: To comply with the new regulations, this contract must be signed and returned no later than 24 hours before your loved one is delivered to Mountain View Crematorium.
  2. Review the information sheet: We will include an information sheet explaining all the necessary details and requirements for cremation. Please take the time to review this carefully.

Once the contract is submitted, we will contact you through the phone number provided by your Funeral Director to confirm that we have received it. If you have not received the contract, please notify us immediately so we can ensure everything is in place.
